Fistral
Beach Newquay
Newquay's largest and by far the most popular beach, a famous
surfing beach, where many international surfing events are held
each year. The lie of the beach provides the most consistent
surfing conditions. |

Watergate
Bay Porth
A huge expanse of sand and sea, popular with surfers due to the space.
Kite surfing events are held at this beach, as it gets direct westerly
winds. |

Bay Beach Holywell Bay
A two tiered beach large when the tide is out. Quick narrows on the
rising tide. Extensive sand dunes before the beach makes access difficult
for pushchairs etc. |

The beach sits between two high headlands. A flat beach with good
access. |

Perranporth
Beach Perranporth
One of the largest beaches in Cornwall. (3 miles) The combination
of sand dunes and this huge gently sloping beach with easy access
makes it very popular. |

This postcard proves that British surfers were using postcards to
tell their mates up country about the state of the surf!
Predating the American surfers by a couple of decades. The postcard
used probably warned it was a bit flat. Telegrams were expensive.
